Remy Swaab is a Panama-based technology entrepreneur and international business leader with more than three decades of experience spanning financial technology, international trade, business management, logistics, commercial real estate and organizational governance.
He is the Executive Director of World Trade Center Panama and a member of the Board of Directors of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA), where he serves as Chairman of the Digital Steering Committee. He previously served for eight years as a Vice Chair of the WTCA Board, including multiple terms as Vice Chair-Treasurer and an earlier term as Vice Chair-Secretary.
Remy’s relationship with World Trade Center Panama began during the development of the complex in 1996. He later served as Project Manager and, from 2009 to 2012, as Chairman of its Board of Directors. Since 2014, he has led WTC Panama’s activities as Executive Director, promoting international business connections and strengthening Panama’s participation within the global World Trade Center network.
Alongside his WTC responsibilities, Remy is the founder and manager of technology companies specializing in banking and financial-services software. He oversees the development and international commercialization of digital core banking platforms.
His earlier professional experience includes serving as Marketing Manager at Manzanillo International Terminal and as Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce Colombia–Panama and the Association of Computer Users of Panama. He has also participated on corporate, nonprofit and other boards, frequently serving in leadership and chairman roles.
Remy holds degrees in Finance and Banking and in Computer Science and Systems from Universidad del Istmo in Panama, together with specialized studies in marketing, accounting and economics.
Born in Amsterdam and raised in Panama, he is a Panamanian citizen and is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Dutch.
